Jerry Biggerstaff, Square Dance Caller

Jerry and Judy started square dancing in 1969, and Jerry began calling in 1970, in his hometown of Marion, North Carolina. Becoming very active, they both held all offices of the club.
Jerry presently calls for 5 clubs, teaching workshops and new classes each year, along with weekend festivals. Jerry is a charter member of the North Carolina Callers Association, as well as being an accredited member of Callerlab since 1977. Jerry received his Quarter Century Award in 1995. Jerry is co-owner and records for Platinum Records with Jimmy Roberson, together they formed the record company in 1998 and have recorded several songs since then.
Jerry and Judy are members of the Western Carolina Federation Hall of Fame, North Carolina Federation Hall of Fame, and also received the North Carolina Golden Slipper Award.
Jerry served as President of the Western Carolina Federation for three years, also has served on several committees for the State Federation.
Jerry and Judy were vice chairman of sound for the 47th NSDC, in Charlotte. They served as Chairman of the Social and Special Events Committee for the NSDC in 2007. They coordinate, plan, and promote weekend festivals, bus trips, and square dancing in general. They look on the positive side of square dancing and work hard to further the growth of square dancing.
Jerry owns and operates “Jerry’s Hair Styling” In Marion.
Jerry and Judy have been married for 47 years and have one daughter, Carla. They have 2 grandchildren, Jessica Lee and Cecil Scott.
